Mineral Inquiry Video

Friday January 6, 2012

Challenge Day!

Yesterday students worked at asking quality scientific questions about minerals.   They did an excellent job and formulated a ton of high quality questions.  Next week we will begin to address them all.  We want to tackle one or two today in the form of a challenge.

Mineral Challenge One:

Use your creative powers to create a movie, presentation, or other blog entry of your choice.
You can post a video if you choose that option to your blog through your vimeo account.  The movie should address one of the two topics!

  • What is a mineral?
  • What is the difference between a rock and a mineral?
Once you and your partner have chosen a topic the next step is research.  You may use your google research skills or click on the Mineral Resource Link to help you in your search.

After you have gathered your information, it is time to get creative.  Your audience is interested adults and kids.  Your movie or blog entry needs to answer the question but also be entertaining!

Good Luck!

Lastly....The Great Lakes Ecology Retake will begin Monday!  If you would like to participate please complete the Scavenger Hunt this weekend on a SEPARATE sheet of paper.
